YHVH gives us a way to have a friendship with Him.

We have a friendship with YHVH through the tabernacle.

The tabernacle belongs to YHVH.

We follow His rules in the tabernacle.

We bring special gifts to YHVH to show we love Him.

These gifts are called offerings.

Some offerings give us a way to say sorry when we do wrong.

Some offerings give us a way to say thank you.

We always bring our very best.

Animal gifts should not be injured, or sick.

Animal gifts should always be kosher.

We sometimes bring a special gift, called a burnt offering.

We kill our animal gift at the door of the tabernacle.

Then we skin and wash it and give it to the priest.

He burns the whole animal on the altar.

This offering reminds us to love YHVH with our whole self.

The tabernacle is gone right now, but YHVH still wants to have a friendship with us.

One way to give this offering now is by talking to YHVH in prayer.

Sometimes we bring bread flour for a gift.

We pour sweet smelling oil on it.

The priest takes a handful to burn as a gift for YHVH.

YHVH likes the yummy smell of flour.

The priest gets to keep the rest of the gift.

Sometimes we bake bread for a gift.

We make flat bread and always use salt.

The priest does not burn bread as a gift.

He gets to eat it.

Sometimes we bring an animal gift to say thank you to YHVH.

We kill it at the door of the tabernacle.

We skin and wash it and give it to the priest.

He burns the fat, and cooks the meat.

We eat the meat with the priests.

We have no tabernacle today, but we can always come to YHVH and say thank you.

Sometimes we make a mistake and need to say we are sorry.

We bring an animal offering.

We kill it and skin it and wash it outside the door.

Then the priest cooks the meat and eats it with the other priests.

Even kings need to bring an offering when they make a mistake.

When we do wrong, we can’t be friends with YHVH.

We need to be careful to do what is right.

If we make a mistake, we need to tell YHVH we are sorry.

Then He will forgive us and we can be friends with Him again.
