Stamp thine own image

Stamp thine own image

Proverbs 20:7

The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

Devotional

Begin with prayer.

Do you know someone who has great integrity? Are they honest and kind? Truthful in all their dealings? If you answered yes, count yourself as blessed! It is good to keep company with people who serve the LORD.

If a father walks in integrity, even his children will be blessed. They will find favor with the LORD. The hebrew word for integrity is very beautiful. It is ‘tome’ which also means completeness.

hebrew

Not only is the person with integrity a good and righteous man, he is also a complete person.  Now we know that none of us are without sin. As the Bible says, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So, to be a truly righteous man or woman, we need to be completed. How do we become complete? Inside each man or woman, boy or girl, lies an empty space. God put that space within each of us. It is a spot within our heart that only God can fill. When we call on His name, He puts His Holy Spirit there. He stamps His own image deep in our hearts. That is why they say, when you are a believer, the Father sees His Son Yeshua when He looks at you!

Do you want to be complete? Walk in integrity? To one day have your children be extra specially blessed? Call out to Yeshua HaMashiach today to fill your heart with His ways!

Talk about it

Would you like to be known as a person with integrity, honest and good? How does calling on the LORD help you to be righteous? Is anyone perfectly righteous without Adonai? What are some things you can do today to walk in integrity?

Hands on Learning: Stamping Fun

Today we talked about asking the Father to “stamp” His image in our hearts. You will need any object that can be used to stamp an image. You may use items such as: a potato, a sponge, a leaf, or a stone. You will need some paint and paper. Dip your stamp in paint to make beautiful pictures. Try to see Adonai’s hand in your picture. For example, a leaf dipped in green paint can represent life. A sponge cut into a Jewish star can represent God’s plan for the Jewish people, etc.

Important: Use safety when using carving knives. Use only with parental supervision.

Optional

Have students draw a picture of the person or persons in their lives that they most admire. What kind of good things does this person do? Have the child illustrate these actions in their drawing. Students may choose to display their art and explain their work to their family.

End with prayer.
