What did I…
Offer thanks for?
Little blessings like children’s smiles and hugs, the ever increasing ability to get my kitchen clean every night, good feast music 🙂
I’ll get back to you on that one. 😀
We have a stove coming today, Gramma coming tomorrow, Pesach coming next week. Feeling a bit overwhelmed at times. I told Doug that I think I’m trying to become Martha Stewart overnight. He agreed and wisely warned against it. lol I’m having to keep praying and reminding myself to take things in bits. That is helping a lot.
Teach my children?
I would say instead, what are my children teaching me? They are delighting me with their insights. They have wonderful spirit and depth of understanding when it comes to spiritual things. And sometimes their insights cause a bit of an ouch for me, like when they decided that some of their dvds were not appropriate according to Torah, and I wanted to talk them out of some of them.
Study and learn?
I have decided to throw out everything I know about chickens and start over. (Thank you Andi, for your pics and posts about your hens. They have been an inspiration to me.) I have begun reading The Small-Scale Poultry Flock, and Doug and I are very excited to begin again this spring. We plan to get a heap of Australorp chickens and some more ducks. Exciting stuff!
I laughed hysterically when I watched this video!
YHVH give me peace. Everything will go fine, and even if it doesn’t, you gave me the ability to think creatively and come up with solutions. Thank you ahead of time for helping me through things like deliveries in the snow.
What is this week’s Torah portion and what did I learn from it?
Tzav Leviticus 6-8
I’ve been thinking a lot about the sacrificial system and what we can learn from it. Not only is it an incredible picture of what sin costs, but it shows the compassion YHVH has on His people. He requires only the blood of an animal as sacrifice, while all the other gods required human blood. His system kept the Levites well fed and cared for as part of their inheritance. Some sacrifices were like a barbeque picnic that the offerer got to enjoy with YHVH. There are so many intricacies and details that give us more insight into the heart of our Abba. Praise YHVH.
(technically a few days ago, but it’s not much different today!)
And another, just because it’s funny!
