Proverbs 6:6-11

Go to the ant, you slacker- consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler. Yet it prepares its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, slacker? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep- and your poverty comes like a bandit and your need like an armed man.

Character lesson

We are taught to go to the ant to learn a very important lesson, the value of independent, hard work. An ant gets to work without being told, and would never be caught sitting around doing nothing. They work hard to prepare for the future.

We need to follow the fourth commandment which instructs us to work hard for six days and rest on the seventh day. (Shabbat) Children can learn how to work hard from a young age. They can contribute a lot to keeping a home running smoothly. Just like the ant, you can help with fixing meals, growing vegetables, and cleaning up.

If you spend a lot of time in your Bible, it's time to add some functional and pretty tabs. These printable watercolor tabs will help you find each book of the Bible easily. You will receive a printable PDF file of the Bible tabs. I recommend that you print them on cardstock. They are designed to be folded and glued on both sides of the page. Just the cardstock is quite durable, but if you would like to add a little more protection, add some clear packing tape. Lamination would be too difficult to fold and glue on your Bible pages. Four tabs fit nicely down the edge of an average sized Bible.
