Family Torah School 2013 – Day 4

July 24, 2013 by Heidi Leave a Comment

This summer, spend a week with your kids having fun and learning more about Torah, reminiscent of vacation Bible school. This year’s theme is “My favorite farm animals.” The kids helped pick out a farm animal for each day, and everything for that day is loosely tied to the animal. Here you will find a basic plan and lots of ideas to help you have a great week.

Animal of the day – Chickens

Bible Story – Psalm 91 YHVH protects us as a mother hen protects her chicks.

This is not so much a story as a lesson in YHVH’s protection. Perhaps you know someone that was miraculously healed, or can think of a time when YHVH protected your family. Was it during a storm, or while on a trip? Share this with your children.

Psalm 91 is an amazing chapter. Have your children draw pictures of all the imagery and different ways YHVH describes His protection.

Crafts

  • Clucking chicken from a disposable cup
  • Chicken popup card, along with some great chicken photos
  • watercolor chicken

Snacks

  • devilled eggs
  • egg salad sandwiches
  • pickled eggs
  • chicken salad on lettuce

Activities and ideas

  • Ask your kids to bring out any animal toys they have and set up a farm together. You know, get on the floor and play with your kids. 🙂
  • Lots of neat farm learning games here

Memory Verse List

This list will hopefully give your children enough verses for the whole week. I would recommend printing one for each child and hole punching next to each verse as they are able to recite it. And by all means, have some cute little prizes for them to earn as they learn.

Bible in Basic English Version
