Time with Yeshua – Flight to Egypt

Join us as we explore the life of Yeshua! Each lesson will include verses to read, discussion questions, and some sort of activity, like a coloring page. 🙂 Enjoy!

Flight to Egypt

Flight to Egypt

Bible verses

Matthew 2:12-18

Discussion Questions

Who was King Herod and what was he like? (Read the first part of ch. 2 for some hints.)

What is the connection between Rachel and Bethlehem? (vs. 18, Gen. 35:16-20)

Often, the difference between evil and good is the value they place on human life. How is that illustrated in this story?

How many Biblical stories can you name that took place in Egypt?

Activities

Mark Egypt on a map.

Make some pyramids. Isn’t it interesting to think that Yeshua could have seen them while he was there?

Color a picture. Now might be a good time to explain that many people do not realize that Yeshua was a Hebrew and had a Hebrew name. They are using the name that tradition handed down to them, but we are excited to be able to call Him by his real name!

Rather than color, your children may enjoy making their own pictures of the event.

Learn the Hebrew word for Egypt – Mitsrayim.
