This month’s verse list is centered on the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) and the beautiful truth that Yah dwells with His people. As I’ve been preparing these passages, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means for Him to be our covering—not just during a festival week, but in our everyday lives.
To be honest, today has been one of those days when worry crept in and took up more space in my mind than I would like to admit. My thoughts feel scattered, my heart a little unsettled. Maybe you’ve been there too. In those moments, it is easy to forget that Yah is not far away. He hasn’t left us to figure things out on our own.
The Feast of Tabernacles reminds us of the sukkah, a temporary shelter. It wasn’t fancy, it wasn’t permanent—but it was a visible reminder of Yah’s presence and His provision. The Israelites lived in booths to remember how He cared for them in the wilderness. Even when life felt uncertain, He was their shade, their covering, their dwelling place.
That same truth is for us today. When worry threatens to overwhelm, Yah invites us to rest under His covering. The verses this month will guide us to meditate on that truth: He is our shelter, our dwelling, our protection. We don’t have to fight worry on our own strength—we can choose to sit in His presence and let His Word remind us that He is near.
As you work through this month’s verse list, I encourage you to do more than just read—write them out, copy them slowly, and let each word settle into your heart. Copywork helps us absorb Scripture in a way that reading alone doesn’t always accomplish, especially when distractions or anxious thoughts are loud.
Here are some of the themes you’ll find in this month’s passages:
- Yah as our shelter and refuge
- His presence dwelling with His people
- The joy of tabernacling with Him
- Trusting Him to cover us when life feels uncertain
I know I need these reminders, and maybe you do too. Let’s use this month to quiet our worries and rest under the sukkah of His presence.
