About

Torah Family Living

Hi there! I’m so glad you stopped by.
My name is Heidi Cooper, and I’ve been married to my best friend, Doug, since 2000. Our story didn’t go quite how we first planned—but YHVH’s plan was better. He filled our lives with blessings in the form of seven wonderful kids, Doug’s mom (who lives with us), and a lively homestead with sheep, ducks, cows, dogs, goats, cats, and chickens. Life here is never dull—and never quiet!

Why I started Torah Family Living

I created Torah Family Living to help families build a solid foundation, starting with the Torah and culminating in the life and ministry of Yeshua, our Savior. I believe Torah isn’t just ancient history—it’s a living guide for how we can walk with YHVH today. My goal is to give you tools that make it easier to live out your faith day by day—whether that means teaching your children, managing your home, or simply learning to rest on Shabbat.

My journey into Torah

When I was pregnant with our fourth child, we first heard the idea that Torah still applies. I’ll be honest—I didn’t like it! I set out to prove that Sabbath had been changed to Sunday… but it only took about ten minutes of study to realize I was wrong. That was the start of our Torah journey, and YHVH has been teaching us ever since. Now I love helping other families discover that His instructions are still good, still relevant, and still full of blessing.

Writing, teaching, and practical tools

I’ve always loved to write. With Doug’s encouragement (and a lot of coffee), I’ve written My First Torah (the weekly Torah portions rewritten for children), The Children’s Ketubah Project, and It’s Okay to Hide in the Bathroom, a lighthearted look at Torah-based parenting. More recently, I created the Torah Family Living Planner, a tool designed especially for Torah-observant moms who want to keep their homes, homeschools, and spiritual lives organized and intentional. Each page was born out of my own need for structure that honors both family life and faith.

A heart for homeschooling

Homeschooling has been part of my life since I was a teenager. I was homeschooled myself, and now I love watching my own kids learn and grow. Our days are a blend of Charlotte Mason and Robinson approaches, flavored with Scripture and a lot of curiosity. You’ll find my Scripture copywork books and Torah study resources here to help make your homeschool both peaceful and purposeful.

Real life, real faith

I’m just a mom who struggles—and learns—and gets back up again. YHVH continues to show Himself strong in my life, and I can’t help but share how wonderful He is. If you’re walking this same path, I want you to know that He can help you, too.

Take a look around! You’ll find resources for Torah portions, parenting, homeschooling, and practical homemaking—plus encouragement to keep your heart centered on YHVH in all you do.

And if you’d like to stay connected, I’d love for you to sign up for my newsletter. You’ll get my free guide to getting started on your Torah journey, plus weekly encouragement for your home and heart.
