The feasts are behind us now, and the air is starting to turn — that quiet shift where you find yourself thinking about pantries, wood piles, and what needs to be ready before the cold sets in. It felt like the right month to sit with Joseph.
His story isn’t really about dreams or Egypt or even famine, not at the heart of it. It’s about a man who stayed faithful in seasons he never would have chosen — sold by his own brothers, forgotten in prison, tested at the exact moment vindication seemed close. And yet Yah was preparing him the whole time, long before Joseph could see what any of it was for. That’s the kind of story I want in front of me as we head into winter: a reminder that the unseen, ordinary faithfulness of today is often how He prepares us for what’s coming.
This month’s list walks through Genesis 37–50 in thirty days, three to six verses at a time — the dreams, the pit, Potiphar’s house, the prison, the rise to Pharaoh’s court, and finally the reunion and forgiveness that make this story worth telling at all.
