There’s something about this season that makes me want to slow down and look up. The fall feasts are coming — Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles — and every year they remind me of the same thing: we don’t get through hard or holy seasons by our own strength. We get through them because Yah shelters us.
That’s the thread running through September’s verse list. We start in Psalm 91 and Psalm 46, sit for a while under the picture of a mother bird sheltering her chicks, then move day by day into each of the fall feasts — the watchfulness of Trumpets, the covering of Atonement, and the dwelling-with-Him joy of Tabernacles. Thirty days, three to five verses a day, no commentary from me — just Scripture, laid out so you can sit with it in the morning over coffee or read it aloud with your kids at the table.
